Bodegas Bernabeleva Navaherreros Garnacha de Bernabeleva Vinos de Madrid DO, Spain, is a captivating Red still dry wine crafted from organically certified Garnacha grapes. This minimal intervention wine, fermented with wild yeasts and aged for a year in old oak, is unfined and unfiltered, allowing its true character to shine. The nose offers wild sweet berry fruits with hints of spice, herb, graphite, and salinity. A silky smooth entry leads to full-bodied flavours of sweet cherry, raspberry, and nutmeg, maintaining a lovely freshness with fine tannins and a long finish. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs beautifully with rich fish like grilled Turbot, or even poultry and mild cheeses.

Vinification

Vineyards are manually harvested. Vinification is minimal intervention and takes place in wood, stainless steel or concrete tanks, depending on the features of the grapes, for each site is vinified and aged separately. All of the must if fermented with wild yeasts and macerates for 5 to 7 weeks, then aged in old oak for 1 year. The wine is aged for 12 months in French and Slavonia 500 to 4000 litre oak. 100% of the wine is oaked, with no new oak. Unfined and unfiltered.

This captivating Red wine offers an aromatic bouquet of wild sweet berry fruits, hints of spice, and earthy mineral notes. On the palate, it delivers full-bodied flavours of sweet cherry, raspberry, and a touch of nutmeg, all framed by a silky smooth texture and fine tannins, leading to a fresh, long finish.

Serve at 16-18°C. Decant for an hour to best enjoy its rich berry and spice profile.
