Bodegas y Viñedos Merayo Merayo Mencia Bierzo DO, Spain, is a vibrant Red still wine, dry and expressive. Crafted from ancient Mencía bush vines, it undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, followed by six months on fine lees and micro-oxygenation. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine offers an intense bouquet of fresh berry and violet notes, with a powerful, spacious, and creamy palate. Ripe, rounded tannins lead to a wonderfully long finish, echoing the fruit and floral spice. It pairs perfectly with roasted meats, game, and mature hard cheeses.

Vinification
Maceration and fermentation for 10 days in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Ageing on its fine lees for a period of 6 months and a period of 1 week of micro-oxygenation. Final stabilisation and bottling.

This vibrant Red Mencía offers an intense bouquet of fresh berries and delicate violet, complemented by subtle spicy undertones. On the palate, it is powerful and creamy, showcasing ripe red fruit flavours with well-integrated, rounded tannins and a wonderfully persistent finish.
Serving recommendation
Serve at 14-16°C. Decanting for 30 minutes before serving is recommended.
