Pepe Mendoza Tinto Vinos Alicante DO, Spain, is a vibrant Red still dry wine crafted from Monastrell, Giró de Abargues, and Alicante Bouschet grapes. Vinified simply in small stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and 10% stems, it undergoes soft macerations to preserve its character. It offers aromas of Mediterranean herbs, pine, rosemary, and orange peel, leading to a full, round, and beautifully balanced palate with bright blueberry, red cherry, and cranberry fruit, complemented by subtle spice and black pepper, all with fresh acidity and ripe tannins. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs wonderfully with roast meats, game, cured cheeses, and Iberian sausages.

Vinification
A simple vinification based on the principle that less is more. Each variety is harvested separately at perfect maturity and fermented in small stainless steel tanks. The musts ferment freely with their own yeasts, without enzymes, nothing added. The tanks are filled with lightly pressed grapes and 10% stems. The macerations are very soft, so as not to toughen the wine, lightly filtered, and bottled without clarification or cold treatment.

This wine offers a vibrant bouquet of Mediterranean herbs, pine, rosemary, and orange peel. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, revealing bright notes of blueberry, red cherry, and cranberry, complemented by subtle spice and a touch of black pepper, all framed by fresh acidity and ripe tannins.
Serving recommendation
Serve at 12-14°C, decanting for 30 minutes to enhance its vibrant fruit and spice.
