Bodegas Altolandon Mil Historias Malbec Manchuela DO, Spain, is a vibrant Red dry still wine crafted from Malbec grapes. This complex wine, aged for four months in a combination of French oak barrels and traditional clay amphorae, offers powerful aromas of blackberry, blueberry, rose, and violet, with a hint of spice. The palate is nicely concentrated, revealing big flavours of plum, dark cherry, and blackberry, complemented by nuances of bittersweet cocoa and a subtle stimulating flavour of mint. Certified organic, vegan, and vegetarian, this versatile wine pairs wonderfully with lamb, as well as aromatic meat dishes such as Thai beef or Cuban pork.

Vinification

Never harvested before the 12th October and always by hand. The colour is extracted in 6000 litre inox tank. Skin contact for 2 to 3 weeks at a controlled temperature before an alcoholic fermentation which is spontaneous, with gentle pumping over for 5 weeks. Pressed directly to 3rd use, 225 Litre French oak barrels, where the malolactic fermentation takes place, also in a natural and spontaneous way for about 4 months. Aged for 4 months in 50% oak barrel and 50% in clay amphoras. Stabilisation is also natural and during the coldest months, temperatures can be go to minus 15° C.

Flavour profile

This Malbec offers a complex bouquet of dark fruits like blackberry and blueberry, intertwined with delicate floral notes of rose and violet, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it delivers concentrated flavours of plum, dark cherry, and blackberry, complemented by nuances of cocoa, mint, and an earthy finish with a touch of black pepper.

Serving recommendation

Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to breathe.
