Piekenierskloof Heirloom White, Piekenierskloof, South Africa, is a dry White still wine crafted from Grenache Blanc and Chenin Blanc. Grapes are handpicked and undergo skin contact before natural fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by six weeks on fine lees and 8 months of oak ageing. This complex wine reveals layers of peach, apricot, and white pear, with delicate notes of chamomile and fresh minerality. It offers well-balanced acidity and an elegant oak influence, culminating in a long, lingering finish. It pairs outstandingly with seafood, sushi, fish curry, grilled scallops, or roast chicken. This wine is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Vinification
Grapes were handpicked very early in the morning allowing the fruit to retain their natural flavour. Skin contact for 6 - 8 hours, before the free run juice was subtracted and allowed to settle overnight. Natural fermentation took place before being inoculated with selected yeast strains prior to fermenting in 500 and 300 litre French oak barrels. After fermentation the wine spent six more weeks on fine lees in barrel. (25% second fill and 50% third fill, rest older oak).
